Alpha and Omega
This distincive title- naming the first and
last letters of the Greek alphabet- occurs
with “the Almighty” found in Revelation
1:8: “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says
the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and
who is to come, the Almighty.”
Then, significantly, in Revelation 22:13,
Jesus Christ applies the title to Himself
stating, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the First and the Last, the Beginning and
the End.”
The disciple and apostle, John, who
walked with Christ while on earth,
describes his incredible vision and angelic
encounter in detail in both the first and
the climactic last chapters of the book of
